You know her side of the story, now learn his.

"It was useless. I felt branded beneath my skin by a girl who left without even saying goodbye."

When Will Price was assigned a partner for a sixth grade class project he had no idea she would become his best friend. After years of friendship, she eventually became so much more. Then, one day she left with no explanation.

Will’s life shattered right before his eyes and he was left alone to pick up the pieces. Floundering, Will must figure out a way to carry on, to find a way to exist without her.

Seven years later, a chance encounter leaves him desperate to get her back. He has one week to make her his again. Not everyone gets a second chance with the love of their life and Will is determined to never lose her again.

Her Release Day Event

I won’t lie, I was disappointed.  I was really looking forward to reading Her from Will’s pov.  I was more curious about what he thought when I was reading Him.  My review for Him is here.

The first half of this Her is a rehash of Him but from Will’s perspective.  Yes we do get some insight however, I found Will to more endearing and sweet in Him.  I think Her ruined Will for me.  Maybe because Sarah was written similarly.  This is one of those books where you like the side characters more than the lead.  I’m not sure where the disconnect is.

There are good things and bad things about Her.  The good stuff for me happened during the last half of the book.  We get to see what happens after Will goes to Colorado for the summer with Sarah.  It’s basically a wrap up.  What bothered me though was that the last half of the book was pretty much nothing but sex with bits and pieces of the story.  The filler was sex.  That’s pretty much all Will and Sarah did.  I found myself skipping through those parts to get to the good stuff.  What happened with Will’s mom and Sawyer?  What happens with the business, does Sarah move back to Colorado.?  Do they get married.?  Do they have kids?  Do they ever rub their togetherness in Jessica’s face?

Some of this is addressed and some of it isn’t over all I was okay with the way it ended.  Sawyer continued to be a highlight for me in the book.  I really liked her character.  Jared makes more of an appearance.  I was NOT happy with where that storyline went.  I felt like the author did him a big dis-service there.

I still found myself annoyed with Sarah.  She still seemed very immature to me.  She continues to stick her tongue out every chance she gets.  Miley anyone?

The book wraps up the story in a neat little package.  Not sure if there will be another book for Sawyer and/or Jared.

All in all it was just okay for me.
