One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

Adrienne's Review

I love all things Christina Lauren.  I love their writing.  I love their characters.  I love their plots.  I love their dirty minds.  Sweet Filthy Boy filled a need I didn’t know I had.  I was taken on a heartfelt, sweet, sexy, dirty trip to France with two charismatic characters, Ansel and Mia.

Ansel and Mia meet in Vegas and even though the motto may be “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” this time it definitely doesn’t.  There is no denying the chemistry between these two.  Ansel is assertive, flirty, sexy, FRENCH and Mia is demure, quiet, reserved, unsure, timid.  Did I mention that Ansel if FRENCH?  That alone could have been that tagline and I would have been sold!

When Mia makes an uncharacteristic spur of the moment decision to spend the summer in France, things get very interesting.  Ansel is thrilled to explore all that is Mia however, in the light of day, or the light of Paris, things aren’t quite as sexy, flirty, and as fun as they were in Vegas.

I absolutely loved how this story was told.  We’ve hall had those moments of crazy.  Where we partied hard and maybe done a thing or two that wasn’t planned.  Tattoo anyone?  But the next day, we’r normally hit in the face with a good dose of reality.  Those beer goggles are gone and we have no choice but to look in the mirror.  Regret often sets in.  So I loved that Ansel and Mia face exactly that.  No sugar coating.  No unicorns and rainbows.  Real life people.  It happens.

Like any brand new acquaintances, there are awkward moments.  There are several moments of doubt.  There’s definitely a learning curve.  Ansel and Mia aren’t really a couple.  They aren’t even really friends.  They just had a one night stand.  A very, very memorable one-night stand.  But there’s a spark there and it’s up to them to see if that means something.  It was refreshing to read a story where real life obstacles occur and are eventually resolved.  Albeit with costumes and role playing but who cares?  Ansel is FRENCH!!  Did I mention that?

I think I blushed and swooned (yes swooned) and remained a tad off kilter for the entire book.  The adorable factor is 110%.  The clever moments, laugh out loud quips, and overall good feelings were there and then some.  But the sex….good grief….the sex.  Christina Lauren can write some sex scenes like no other.  I was fanning myself and looking at my husband in a whole new light.  If only he spoke French.  Did I mention Ansel is FRENCH and speaks it when in the heat of the moment?  I don’t even care what he was saying.  I was hearing it in my head and feeling warm all over.  Soooooooo  gooooood.

This is a must read as is all of Christina Lauren‘s writing.  I’m going to impatiently wait for the next adventure they take us on!

About Christina Lauren

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. Married to the cutest boy in school, she has a thirteen year old daughter, is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter, and also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

Surprise visit to a friend that was serving an army in another country, never regret it. By far the best spur of the moment decision I’ve ever made. 🙂

I’m not a very “spur of the moment” chick. I like to think things out (much to my hubby and teen’s dismay, at times). I am who I am 🙂

Can’t think of any spur of the moment stuff. I’ve had a holiday where I only booked accomodation for the next night as I was going (a driving holiday with a friend). It’s still one of the best holidays I’ve had
