MY REVIEW
When I was first approached by Genna Rulon to read Only For You, I have to admit I was excited. You can tell a lot about an author not only by their approach but by the way they speak. Genna was humble, she was funny, she was kind, and I could tell that Only For You was going to be a good book. I was not disappointed! You can and should read my review for Only For You here. When Genna asked me to beta read Pieces For You I was surprised and unbelievably honored. Believe me when I say Genna Rulon is an author to watch. I can’t wait for you to read her books, tell your friends, tell your family. I can’t wait for everyone to be talking about Genna Rulon the amazing new the author. The woman who can write about a sensitive subject with grace and eloquence without making it cheap or dirty. There’s just enough realism without making it hard to digest. Her female characters are some of the best I’ve ever read. They’re strong, independent, loving, funny, sexy and incredibly intelligent. Her leading men are the same, confident without being cocky, they’re strong, handsome, smart, fiercely protective but above all else they’re kind and compassionate.
Pieces For You picks up Sam’s story where Only For You leaves off. What happened to Sam in Only For You is beyond imaginable. It was brutal. It was absolutely horrific. The beginning starts out with journal entries written by Sam. You get glimpses into her psyche at that moment in time. You get to hear her thoughts about how she’s feeling, what she’s thinking, and what she knows is her truth. I thought it was brilliant to give us that insight. There was no sugar coating Sam’s reality. You will feel this woman’s pain.
I adore Sam. I know I sing Griffin’s praises and some of those are for personal reasons. I’ll get to that in a minute. Sam however, I thought she was fantastic in Only For You. In fact I thought she had some of the best lines in that book. She’s hilarious, I mean laugh out loud funny, her humor is without restraint, it’s not forced at all, it’s just who she is. To watch Sam’s recovery or should I say read as we’re taken on Sam’s journey through recovery it is emotional and incredibly well written. There are many deep layers throughout this story. You will connect with Sam in a way you probably didn’t think was possible.
Griffin has been waiting for Sam to come back. We knew Griffin had feelings for Sam in Only For You. He was just waiting, patiently. When Sam was hurt, Griffin was furious. He spent a lot of time preparing himself for her. He wants to protect her. He wants to be her friend, her confidant, her shoulder to cry on. He wants to help her move on. He wants to love her. He does love her. The way Griffin handles Sam is perfect. When I say perfect I don’t mean literally. We all know nothing is perfect and Genna will remind you that from time to time. When I say perfect I mean for them, as friends, as a couple. He is perfect for Sam. His background in psychology definitely helps. He doesn’t try to diagnose her or tell her what to do or how to feel. He’s just always there for her with kindness, patience, compassion, and love. Trust me your heart will be so full with all that is Griffin that you’ll find yourself sighing and maybe even crying at times. I suffer from ptsd and anxiety attacks. I know what I need from my husband and I know what I don’t need. We’ve figured it out over time and he’s amazing. I tell you this because Genna Rulon has written Griffin in such a way I know for a fact compliments what Sam is dealing with.
Of course Pieces For You wouldn’t be complete without Everleigh and Hunter. Those two are a dynamic that had to be included. I don’t think Genna could have written this story completely without them. They will make you smile and even laugh. Mostly laugh I think.
I know that I beta read this book and maybe some of you will that think I HAVE to write a good review. I hope that you know me well enough by now to know that I’m a very honest person. If something isn’t good I will tell you. If I didn’t feel like I could put my stamp of approval on it, I wouldn’t. It’s not often that I tout an author’s work like this. Not unless I believe in them. I implore you to pick up Only For You and Pieces For You, you will not be disappointed.

EXCERPT
I raised up on my tippy-toes to peer through the peephole in the door, a recent addition courtesy of Hunter, and saw nothing but a wall of black. I paused for a moment, wondering if the person on the other side placed their thumb over the glass, but dismissed the idea when I noticed the contours of the black abyss before me. I verified that the security chain was engaged before unlocking the deadbolt and opening the door.
Jiminy Crickets! The black void was a shirt, specifically a tee-shirt undergoing durability testing as it strained to contain a scandalously muscled chest and shoulders most NFL linebackers would envy. I was confronted with a decision that no woman should ever have to make; do I look upward to assess the face attached to the scrumptious MMA pecks or go downward to find what other gifts God had bestowed on this specimen. Who was I kidding; there was only one right answer. As my gaze headed south I was greeted by a mid-section that was clearly well tended and hard as stone. Despite his sinfully tight shirt, I couldn’t make out his abs, but I suspected the shirt was covering a defined six-pack. Would it be rude to ask him to remove his shirt before inviting him in? Continuing my exploration I discovered, distressed denim, bulging in all the right places, draped over long thick legs. Hot damn! Hunter was finally paying off with the hot guy friends. I knew this day would come, it was inevitable, but I was still overwhelmed with gratitude—Ev would be getting an extra nice Christmas present this year.
I slowly raised my gaze, verifying that the sight I beheld was not a mirage, and it happened…finally. There was no tingle or twinge, not a whisper of desire or hint of arousal—no, the floodgates of my previously dormant libido opened and a tsunami of lust swept through me. My breath caught and I was forced to grip the doorframe to prevent melting to a puddle on the floor or climbing this tree of man-flesh like the primate I had been reduced to. I gathered the remnants of my cognitive function—the miniscule part of my brain not dedicated to making an erotic laundry list of the many naughty activities I wanted to enlist this man’s help with—to prepare for the possible disappointment should the face accompanying this god-like body be one that sent children shrieking in horror. On the other hand, guys had practiced the “bag over her head” technique for years. I needed to do it, rip the Band-Aid off and accept the possible disillusionment. I reinforced myself, inhaled deeply, and raise my eyes. You’ve got to be kidding me!
“Griffin?” I accused more than asked.
“Hello Sam, good to see you too,” he returned wryly. “Shall I turn so you can get the 360-degree show?”
