From the moment Lev Leokov spots the young woman hiding behind her hair in the middle of the gentleman's club, he can't take his eyes off of her.
For the very first time in his life, he is affected. Having been told his entire life that he can't process or understand emotion, he considers it a big deal.
When Mina Harris gets caught red-handed with a wallet that isn't hers, she falls apart. She's tired, lonely and hasn't eaten in days.
Lev offers her an ultimatum... A nice warm bed, a hot meal and a job, or the cops.
Mina takes her chances with Lev.
After all, a person with nothing has nothing left to lose.
I think I’m kinda mad. Ghost is my favorite and I don’t want to replace him. I had no need to replace him. Wasn’t even thinking anyone could replace him. When I saw that Belle Aurora was releasing another book, I had no choice but to jump on it. Lev Leokov was definitely not what I was expecting but he managed to nudge Ghost over and slide right into my heart.
Listen if you’ve never read a Belle Aurora book you’re really missing out. Not only is her writing engaging and witty, it’s always full of heart. Her characters are so well developed, always leaving an impression long after the book is done. She writes bad, broken, strong, stoic, male characters that leave you swooning, crying, smiling. It’s always an amazing reading experience to jump in their worlds.
Not to be outdone are her female protagonists. Always strong, independent, sexy, and sassy, they’re your bff, your ride or die. You want each and every one of them in your corner at all times. Again it’s all Belle Aurora and her genius style of writing.
While I thought maybe Lev could use some polishing up as a whole there’s a very, very good story here. I dare anyone to NOT fall in love with sweet Lev. I thought Ms. Aurora did a fantastic job of writing such a delicate character and keeping it perfectly inline with the overall plot. I don’t want to give too much away but suffice it to say you’ll be in tears. The story is primarily in Mina’s pov however I absolutely craved my Lev chapters. Mina is this sweet, incredibly strong, gentle, perfect woman for Lev. Again brilliant contrast to what Lev needed and Belle did her justice.
I really hope Belle keeps pushing herself to give us these eclectic, unique characters. They challenge us to think outside the box, to love no matter the faults, to understand that everyone deserves to have their own epic love story.
