I wasn't always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.
Colton didn't teach me how to live. He didn't heal the pain. He didn't make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.
My first experience with her writing was with Wounded. Lets just say I was an instant FAN!
This book was so great for so many reasons. It was a beautiful story of love and loss and love again. There were so many obstacles to overcome and it was beautiful reading how Nell and Colton overcame them.
Jasinda touched on some really hard subjects. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Part of me really wanted there to be some official helping in some capacity. But I understand why it didn’t happen that way. Geez I hope this makes sense, I don’t want to give too much away.
Kyle….what can I really say. He was so perfect for Nell and Nell was so perfect for him. I hate that Jasinda made us connect to Kyle that she did so only to rip him from us. No I’m not giving anything away we already know that he’s going to die. We just don’t realize how much we’ll be in love with him when he does.
Nell has to figure out to move on. Can she move on? Does she want to move on? In her mind does she deserve to move on?
Then Colton steps in and boy does he ever. Colton is Kyle’s older brother. He is a huge presence in this story. He’s such a special person and I think the only person who would have been able to help Nell. By being there for her she helps him and it’s perfect. They both need healing. They both need to forgive themselves. They both need redemption.
My only dislike was the end. I felt like it was rushed in the sense that – that thing that happens…well it happens and then it’s resolved and then it’s the end of the book. I’m super happy to hear there will be a second book that expands on the story. I would like to have more closure with these two special characters.
