To want what you’re not supposed to have…
She is only nineteen.
She is his new stepfather’s daughter.
She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.
But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.
Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…
Blaire just may have fallen too far.
WOAH!!! This book was smokin it was so hot!
“He pressed a kiss to my ear. “Do you feel stretched? Can you tell I’ve been inside you?”
I nodded, feeling my knees go a little weak from the tone in his voice.
“Good. I like knowing you can feel where I’ve been.”
Oh my…did he just say that? *gulp* WOW talk about sex on a stick. That’s one hot naughty dirty boy and I loved every moment!
“Talk. We are going to talk first. I want to see you smile and laugh. I want to know what your favorite show was when you were a kid and who made you cry at school and what boy band you hung posters of on your wall. Then I want you naked in my bed again.”
Then there’s Blaire. She was sweet and innocent and carried a gun. What’s not to love?
“Your instant reaction to being scared is to pull out a gun on someone?”
She’s 19 and alone. Well except for her deadbeat dad who walked out on her and her mom five years prior. Blaire was left to take care of her mother who was dying. So here she is barely an adult, homeless, penniless and looking somewhere to start over. So she turns to her dad. Only her dad has remarried and is living with his new stepson. Blaire ends up on Rush’s doorstep. He is not happy. The homeowner doesn’t want her there.
Rush may not want Blaire there but he definitely can’t stay away from her either. She’s so innocent though and doesn’t know how to handle her emotions nor does she try really. I did feel that their relationship was a little rushed though.
“You aren’t what I expected. I wish you were. It’d be so much easier.”
Of course nothing can be simple. Nope you have a lot of lies and deceit. The family secrets finally come spilling out and boy…the destruction is not pretty. I was so caught up, I found myself holding the kindle tighter and tighter. I hurt for these characters.
My favorite part of the book is going to surprise a lot of people. The end. Yes the ending was my favorite. Those last scenes between Blaire and Rush. Wow…I felt like I was in the room with them. The pain was palpable. I totally cried.
And then it was over….a cliffhanger….I was tapping the kindle begging for more pages!
