I’m in love with a man who tried to kill me. At least that’s what they tell me . . .

Six weeks ago, paramedics found me unconscious in my own home. Beaten. Bruised. Hardly breathing. When I woke up, I couldn’t remember the last three years or anything about my life in Jackson Harbor. They tell me my fiancé, Colton McKinley, is on the run for what he did to me. They tell me I’m safer if I stay away.

I don’t care if my memories ever come back. I want nothing to do with those missing years . . . until a sexy stranger with angry eyes shows up on my doorstep and demands I stop ignoring him.

Levi Jackson is my fiancé’s best friend, but seeing him sparks something inside me. As the truth unravels in my mind, I know they’re wrong about Colton. My own secrets are far more dangerous than the man I was engaged to.

I return to Jackson Harbor to search for answers and find myself running from a faceless boogeyman and seeking refuge in Levi’s arms. And in his bed.

I can’t deny my feelings for Levi. But as the pile of lies between us grows, I realize that sometimes the truth can’t set us free. It may be the very thing that could destroy us.

Dirty, Reckless Love by Lexi Ryan
Release Date: August 14, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

I love Lexi Ryan’s stories.  All of them.  She always delivers on the angst and the romance.  She’s consistently telling imaginative stories, with strong heroines and swoon worthy hero’s.  Dirty, Reckless Love is no exception, only this time we have an attempted murder, missing people, and lots of secrets.  This is the 3rd book in a series I haven’t read.  But that didn’t deter me, and this story can certainly be read as a standalone.

I forgot to mention the “pseudo” love triangle.  I say pseudo because Ellie is in love with Colton, but when she wakes after a horrific assault, her memory from the last three years is gone and so is Colton.  Instead she finds Levi, Colton’s best friend, and an attraction she can’t deny.  Lexi Ryan is so good at writing stories like this.  She adds so many layers and subplots that you never know what’s going to happen next or what you want to happen.  I stayed conflicted throughout the story.  Did I want Colton to return and him and Ellie to stay together?  Or did I want Ellie to explore her attraction to Levi and start all over again with someone new?

I was pulled in many directions all the while trying to figure out who was lying, what secrets were being kept and by whom, and most importantly, where was Colton.  There are so many delicious twists and turns, I couldn’t put the book down until I knew everything.  And let me tell you, I was not prepared for the truth.  Truly surprised by how it all played out.

Give me a sultry, seductive romance, sprinkle in the suspense and I’m hooked every single time.  Now I need to go back and read the first two books!

About Lexi Ryan

Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I’m not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids–a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. When I’m feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally. I’m really, really slow) or do yoga. Don’t worry, I’m always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving of ice cream or a chocolate martini.
