THE MISSING YEARS is the final piece to Aleatha Romig’s CONSEQUENCES SERIES puzzle. Follow the twists and turns as secrets are revealed, consequences are delivered, and the future is shown.
In CONVICTED we saw what happened that fateful afternoon at the Rawlings Estate. Now experience the shocking repercussions firsthand. More than a companion, this full-length novel fills in the gap of time that was only mentioned, beginning when Claire Nichols forgets and seen through the eyes of collective men (the HIS is plural).
In THE MISSING YEARS, readers will see Anthony Rawlings fight for what belongs to him and cope with the reality of his past. Watch as Harrison Baldwin discovers the truth that threatens his beliefs, and as John Vandersol comes to terms with his revelations. Witness Phillip Roach, as he decides with whom his loyalties lay, and Brent Simmons, as he demonstrates the meaning of friendship—no matter the cost.
As the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, BEHIND HIS EYES CONVICTED goes beyond. This final installment of the series offers a glimpse into the future of the lives that will forever be changed because there was a man who...
Once upon a time, signed a napkin that he knew was a contract. As an esteemed businessman, he forgot one very important rule—he forgot to read the fine print. It wasn’t an acquisition to own another person as he’d previously assumed. It was an agreement to acquire a soul.

What an amazing journey this has been. To think it all started with a signature on a napkin. The ride has been unbelievable at times. When I wrote my review for Convicted, I honestly thought that would be the last I would read about Claire and Tony. I had no desire to read more. Their story had been told. It ended as well as I could have imagined. In my mind, I was at peace.
I didn’t know how wrong I was until I began Behind His Eyes: The Missing Years. What a brilliant idea to write this book entirely from the male perspective. Male being more than one though. This book is told from Tony, Brent, Phil, Harry, and John’s POV. It’s a wrap up of everything that happened while Claire was away. Convicted was more of Claire’s story and while we get enough info in it to be satisfied, this book ties up every single loose end. All the dots are connected and at the end we’re left with a picture of a family.
When I first read Consequences, I never in a million years thought this story would end this way. I had no reason to believe that it would be more than just a love story, albeit a twisted and sick love story. It totally ended up being about family, friends, redemption and forgiveness. It’s about righting wrongs and making amends to those they truly care about. It’s also about new beginnings.
As in real life, we make mistakes, we get up and we keep moving forward. Ideally we learn from those mistakes. Every action has a reaction, some unfortunately have consequences. The depravity may run a tad deeper than our own somewhat mundane lives, but the lessons are the same are they not? Maybe if we’re like Tony we don’t learn until we’re 50 years old. If we’re lucky we learn quite early on. I think the series and this book in particular shows the lengths the characters will go to achieve just that. We learn about loyalty and how through loyalty we’ll do just about anything, okay anything to protect the ones we care about.
For me this series has shown that not everything is black and white. You can’t take a persons actions at face value. It’s important to trust but it’s also important to ask questions and even look at things objectively. I don’t even know if I’m making sense. I stayed up all night finishing this book. I”m late with my review and my brain is mush. Look the bottom line, is that this book is the culmination of an EPIC journey. It’s the “director’s cut” if you will. Everything is explained and it’s done so through the eyes of the men that were instrumental in the first three books.
Behind Hie Eyes: The Missing Years is closure. Now we can finally say “the end.” Aleatha Romig is a fantastic writer. This had to be an amazing ride for her. I can’t imagine having a story this huge running around in my head. It was well thought out, and written like I would imagine a movie would be written. I could definitely see it on the big screen!
